One topic that is of recent interest is the local transfer tax that was voted on this past week in several local communities. This was a proposed tax of charging .4% of a property's sales price at closing. Although this tax did not pass this week's election, it will probably be brought up again for a vote next year. Our local Regional Association of Realtors is very much against this tax charged to homeowners. For example, if you sold a home for $250,000, the tax would be $1,000.00.
